Candida Auris is a type of fungus that grows like yeast.

One of the few species of the Candida genus that causes candidiasis in humans.

It was first reported in Japan in 2009.

It is often multidrug-resistant, meaning that it is resistant to multiple antifungal drugs commonly used to treat Candida infections.

Usually spread by contact with contaminated surfaces or by person-to-person transmission.
