Catalytic Converter

-The most common pollutants that catalytic converters help reduce are carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, and hydrocarbons.

-The catalytic converter works by using a catalyst, typically made of platinum, palladium, or rhodium, to convert harmful pollutants into less harmful substances, such as carbon dioxide, water, and nitrogen.

-With the introduction of Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) emission norms in India, it has become mandatory for all vehicles to be fitted with catalytic converters.
