●When beam of light is passed through colloidal solution, » the beam of light is scattered » in such a way that its path or trajectory becomes visible. 

●Intensity of effect depends on : density of colloidal particles as well as frequency of incident light.

●Blue light scattered to a greater extent than red light( as wavelength of blue light is smaller than that of red light.)
